Bingin is a hollow, fast reef-break left for intermediate-advanced surfers, working best on a mid-to-low tide with the dry-season SE trades (Apr-Oct); Padang Padang is Bali's iconic barreling reef left, also advanced-only at the main peak, but its sheltered inside/right corner (locally 'Baby Padang') is a soft, tide-tolerant wave that most local schools actually use to teach beginners. Bottom is sharp coral reef at both main peaks (booties recommended) with a sandier, more protected pocket at Baby Padang. Crowds are heavy at both breaks, Padang Padang's takeoff zone is notoriously narrow and watched from a cliff-top warung strip, and Bingin has some localism among the core crew. Best conditions: dry season (Apr-Oct) for consistent swell and clean offshore wind; Baby Padang tolerates a wider range of tide/wind than the exposed points, so it runs closer to year-round.
