Surf lessons in Balian

River-mouth A-frame breaking over sand, rock and river-washed cobble: the left walls up slow and clean, the right (Ketuts) is faster with barrel sections, and the inside stretch stays soft enough for confident beginners on small days. Works on almost any tide and holds surf nearly year-round on south swell with NE offshore wind, best kept clean in dry season, but the rivermouth can still deliver when other west-coast spots are blown out in wet season. Crowd is low, mostly a handful of local regulars plus overflow from Canggu when everywhere else is flat; best suited to intermediate/advanced surfers, though the inside section works for first-timers.
